All works are in the collection of the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, unless otherwise stated.
Most of the photographic material came from the National Gallery of Australia, i.e. either from the Slide Library or the Photographic Services Section. However, the following 2 portraits were acquired from the Art Archives of the Research Library of the National Gallery of Australia, 1) "Bert Flugelman with maquette for 'Cones' at the steel manufacturer in Adelaide", Adelaide Advertiser, 7 August 1982, and 2) "Mark di Suvero in his workshop", photograph by M Lee Fatherre, New York, 1994, from an exhibition catalogue. The author also took some of the photographs with a digital camera. Photographic material obtained directly off the Internet (Netscape) has been acknowledged above under World Wide Web URLs.
The map is based on maps held in the archives of the Building Services section of the National Gallery of Australia.
I would like to thank Professor Michael Greenhalgh for the challenge of the 1995 Database and Graphics course. However, I could not have succeeded without the assistance of my tutor, Dr Elizabeth Findlay and departmental research assistant, Jo Cramer. I wish to thank both Elizabeth and Jo for their unfailing courtesy and good humour.
I would also like to thank all of the staff at the National Gallery of Australia for their active support of the Studybank program and this project in particular.
Finally, I wish to thank all my family for their continuous love and support, especially, George.
